Grandmaster Ahn Receives Letter of Appointment

The certificate to the left shows that Grandmaster Ahn has been appointed to a newly created International Advisory Committee. The purpose of the Committee is to respond to inquiries concerning Taekwondo and its development in specific countries. Kukkiwon is concerned about the art - and wants to respond to trends that are manifesting themselves on a country or regional basis.

One individual per country has been appointed by Kukkiwon. The choice for the United States is Grandmaster Ahn - who will serve for a two year term

2008 Holiday Banquet

Saturday, December 13 - 5:00 pm

New this year! The Holiday Banquet will be at the Blue Ash school. There will be an awards presentation, a silent auction and martial arts demonstrations in a fun, family setting for everyone to enjoy.

Cost is $5 per person. The School will provide a main course, drinks and desserts. We are asking each family to contribute a side dish.

Parking is available in the Ahn school Parking lot, next door at Dugan & Meyer, and 2 blocks North at the Cornell Strip Mall.

Parent's Night Out -- November 22nd

On Saturday, November 22nd, Ahn Taekwondo Institute will be hosting another Parent's Night Out from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm. This will be our first ever Luau. Students, family members, friends, and neighbors are weclome to participate in surfing games, sand boxes, hula hoops, hula dancing, and much more.

Due to the activities that will be taking place, children must be at least 3 years of age to participate. Pre-registration is required for this event. All children must be registered by Friday, Noveber 21st to participate.

Dodge Ball Tournament Rescheduled

Unfortunately, the dodge ball tournament scheduled for Saturday, November 8th must be rescheduled. We are looking forward to hosting another tournament in early 2009.

Due to the cancellation, please note that we will be following a normal class schedule on Saturday.

Breaking Seminar -- November 1st

Tomorrow, Saturday November 1st, Ahn Taekwondo Institute will be hosting a breaking seminar taught by Master David Johnson. The seminar begins at 12:30 pm. All participants are required to register prior to the seminar beginning. The registration fee of $25 includes 3 boards, but participants are welcome to purchase additional boards for $2 a piece.

Spy Night Pictures

Spy Night Huge Success

Spy night was a huge success. Over 50 special agents helped find the kidnapped Mr. Newburn. They did this by finding clues and solving puzzles.

Winter Retreat Location

New Pro Shop

Ahn Taekwondo has a NEW Pro Shop. Keep your eyes open for new and exciting products that Ahn Taekwondo will be carrying. There will also be a day long holiday sale in December. Check back for dates.

Master Pearson will be in Cincinnati again this weekend and will be teaching the Saturday, 10am class. This class will be focusing on Jump Kicks while standing and kneeling. Specifically the different ways to jump (chambering and non-chambering), how to position the hips while jumping and kicking, how and when to move the arms, and how to jump as high as possible given a student’s current ability. If you need help jumping or just love to do jump kicks, this is the class for you.

Spy Night will be held at the school (11100 Kenwood Road) from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. The cost is $10 for 1 child; $17 for 2 children; $25 for 3 or more.

Dodge Ball Tournament -- November 8th

The first annual Ahn Taekwondo Dodge Ball Tournament will be held on November 8th, starting at 12:30 pm. Put your team of 7 together (4 players under the age of 12 and 3 players 12 and over) to participate in this fun and exciting event.

The registration deadline is Saturday, November 1st. More information and registration packets are available at the front desk.

Breaking Seminar -- November 1st

We will be hosting a breaking seminar on Saturday, November 1st from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Master Johnson will be lecturing and instructing students on numerous breaking techniques, helping students to prepare for the upcoming promotion exam.

All students interested in participating may pick up a registration packet at the front desk. Pre-registration is not required, but it is highly encouraged.
